In the Fall of 2021, Vahe Keushgerian, the winemaker behind brands like Keush sparkling wines, Zulal, and Oshin, traveled to Iran to purchase grapes for winemaking. Since wine production has been banned in Iran since 1979, Vahe had to transport the grapes to Armenia to create the wine, and he successfully did so.
This marks the first modern wine made from Iranian grapes since 1979. It is crafted from 100% Rasheh grapes sourced from the Sardasht region of Iran.
